Your part in Our Green Wedding List
Congratulations on your engagement!
We hope that you really enjoy the run up to your wedding. Our best advice to you is to make the most of the people that celebrate your wedding day with you and not to lose sight of what it is all really about… the choice of favours and the colour of the ribbon on your (electric?) car can sometimes distract from the real purpose.
Our Green Wedding List aims to enable you to start your married life in an environmentally friendly way. Not only do we try to give you some tips on how to make your wedding day greener, but we also aim to provide you with a wedding list with a green twist - in that it offers you a wide range of quality gift options, where all of the gifts are environmentally considerate. We recognise that we all like to have certain items in order to make our lives easier – but Our Green Wedding List offers you environmentally considerate goods at comparable prices as an alternative to mass produced and environmentally damaging products. Some items (subscriptions to organic veggie box schemes) even enable you to start the first months of your married lives with an environmental outlook.
There are of course some items that you won't find on our list…. Patio heaters, mahogony coffee tables and disposable cleaning products. We could apologise for these ommissions - but we aren't at all sorry!
How to set up your green wedding list
- Complete the registration form. Once registered, the site will automatically create your Gift List Page.
- You will be sent an email with details that will enable you to access your gift page, and add products to your list.
- Log into your page and choose the products that you would like to ask your guests for by searching the products listand clicking on the thumbnails of each item. When you like a product, click on update and these will be added to your page. When you return to your main page you can enter the number of each product that you would like to receive. You can add and remove items (although only if they haven't yet been bought) until one month before your wedding.
- You will need to send your guests the link to your gift list in your wedding invitations. They will log in using your first names and the date of your wedding. They will be able to purchase a gift(s) for you and will also be able to leave you a message.
- To log into your pages you will use your password and the date of your wedding. You will be able to see which items have been purchased and by whom so that you can thank them after your wedding.
